Ashburton Intermediate School

Technology Block - In Construction

The design for redevelop of Ashburton Intermediate School involves creating a new heart to the school with buildings surrounding a central landscaped courtyard.

The redevelopment is occuring in three stages. The first is the newly completed 8 teaching space West Teaching Block. 

Secondly a new Technology Block with specialty science, art, food, textiles, and hard material workshops. The third stage is New Block 4; a 10 teaching space building. 

The buildings' are designed to allow flexibility in teaching and learning with spaces of varying sizes to accommodate small groups, traditional class groups, and larger co-teaching groups.

The design of the West block highlights the first two of the school's value in its internal design. The values of Consideration are highlighted in the Blue wing and Integrity highlighted in the Green Block. 

The other two values of Excellence and Innovation are highlighted within the detailed design stage of New Block 4.
